Animal Inventory Returns
2026 Annual Inventory for Pigs and Birds
The Annual Bird and Pig inventories are now due for completion. The inventories are collected via an online survey tool called Blaise, which incorporates additional functionalities requested by farmers in recent years. We will provide support for those who cannot complete it online. While we will be collecting the same information as in previous years, you may notice some differences:
- The unique code required to access the survey is now 12 digits long and must be entered as provided. N.B. This is not case sensitive.
- Your progress will be saved, allowing you to resume the survey from where you left off if you need to pause for any reason.
- Upon submission, you will also have the option to save or print a copy of your responses for your record.
Northern Ireland Bird Register 2026
The Bird Register updates the information we hold under The Avian Influenza (Preventive Measures) Regulations Northern Ireland 2007, to ensure that it is accurate and that we have the information to contact you quickly, e.g. in the event of an Avian Influenza outbreak in the UK.
You can use the relevant link below to complete your Bird Register survey. If you are registered with DAERA as a keeper of birds, you should have received a letter containing a unique code. To use the link below, you will need this code along with your establishment number to complete your Inventory.
If you keep birds on different sites, or different types of establishments on the same site, you will now have a separate establishment number (formerly flock code) for each.
You should have received a survey invite letter listing all your establishment numbers and should complete a separate entry for each in this survey.
Please complete information for 1st June 2026 for every establishment you operate.
Begin the survey by entering your first establishment number (formerly known as flock code) and complete the survey for that establishment. At the end of the survey, you will be asked whether you have another establishment number to enter.
If you select No, the survey will be complete. If you select Yes, you will be returned to the beginning of the survey and prompted to enter the next establishment number. This process can be repeated for each establishment.
