Identification, registration and movement of birds

The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) maintains a ‘Bird Register’.

What is the Bird Register?

This is one of the measures which have been introduced to protect the poultry industry from Avian Influenza (Bird Flu).

All keepers of birds (except keepers of pet birds kept in the owners home) are required to register with DAERA. If you have not already done so, please contact the DAERA Helpline on 0300 200 7840 or your local DAERA Direct Office for a registration form, or it can be downloaded from the link below.
