    There is good brown trout fishing in the faster-flowing stretches. This wild brown trout fishery extends from Shaws Bridge downstream to 150m's below the red bridge.
    The river below Red Bridge is deep and slow-flowing. Fishing points are available all along the old towpath on the West bank from Red Bridge, downstream to Stranmillis Weir, and beyond. Access has been improved as far as the Queen's Bridge.
