    • Project Description: The proposed works at Strangford Lough Yacht Club focus on the remediation of two pontoon piles that currently show structural deterioration, including gaps in the existing steel collars, corrosion-induced section loss, and misalignment due to weakened connections. The project will begin with establishing secure site boundaries and mobilising marine equipment, plant, and welfare facilities, followed by the delivery of necessary materials such as new steel collars, grout, and sacrificial anodes. Pile preparation will involve using airlifting equipment to excavate bed material and expose the bases and collars, followed by thorough jet-cleaning to remove marine growth and debris. Oversized steel collars will then be positioned and welded around the existing collars, with non-shrink grout injected to restore the piles' structural integrity. Leaning piles will be realigned to vertical using a crane before grouting. To prevent further corrosion, brackets and sacrificial anodes will be installed at the low water mark. Once the repairs are complete, all temporary equipment and waste will be cleared from the site, final inspections and quality checks will be conducted, and the site will be demobilised and restored to its original condition.
