The recovery of waste as an integral part of the process that produces it - paragraph 26 exemption

A paragraph 26 exemption allows the recovery, or disposal of waste at the place where it is produced, as an integral part of the process that produces it. It also allows the storage at the place where it is produced, of waste which is intended to be so recovered or disposed of. It does not allow the recovery or disposal of waste at the place where it is produced where the final disposal of the waste is by deposit in or on land.

Waste stream(s) permitted

Any waste which can be recovered, at the place where it is produced, as an integral part of the process that produces it.

Quantity

The amount produced as a result of the process.

Storage

Storage must be at the place where the waste is produced.

Additional conditions

This exemption does not apply to the final disposal of the waste by deposit in or on land.
