The 2023 DAERA Postgraduate Studentships competition

Each year, the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) offers a limited number of full time postgraduate studentships.These are for a 3 year period of research leading to a PhD qualification from a United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland university.

Postgraduate Annual Symposium

Each year an event is held showcasing currently funded students' research. 

The last event was held in the Stormont Hotel, Belfast on Thursday 12 September 2019 and was attended by around 120 students, supervisors, stakeholders and DAERA staff.

Dr Denis McMahon, welcomed everyone to the symposium and guest speaker Dr Sam Strain (Chief Executive, Animal Health and Welfare NI) delivered sound advice to the PhD students.
