    Topics:

    The following movements must be notified to DAERA.

    • Farm to/from Farm.
    • Farm to/from Market.
    • Farm to/from Show.
    • Farm to Meat Plant/Abattoir/Rendering Plant.
    • Farm to/from Export Assembly centres.
    • Farm from Import Premises/Port of entry.
    • Farm to Export Premises/Port of Exit Notifications of movements can be made using in  order of preference: 

    1.DAERA Online Services, or

    2.Telephony (Farm to/from Farm and Market to Farm only), 0300 200 7855, or

    3.Completing a MC2 document and submitting it to your local DAERA Direct Office. Blank MC2 books can be obtained from your Local DAERA Direct Office.

    How to use MC2 Documents

    MC2A sent by the seller to DAERA on the day the animal(s) move from the Establishment Operator’s (keeper’s) premises. (The MC2A should never be given to the buyer).

    MC2B & MC2C sent with the animals to buyer/market/abattoir/show/Export Assembly Centre (EAC).

    MC2B sent by the buyer to DAERA on day the animals are received by the buyer/market/abattoir/ show/ Export Assembly Centre (EAC). MC2C kept by the buyer as a record.

    MC2D kept by the seller as part of their records.

    Movement Restrictions

    These are applied to individual animals or whole herds due to disease or identification registration and movement deficiencies. Information on specific disease restrictions is available on the links below.

    BVD Breeding Animal Movement Restrictions

    In addition to the above restrictions, animals moving from farm to farm (or farm to market) must have negative (BVDN) or indirect negative (INDNEG) status. Animals moving from farm to abattoir can have BVDN, INDNEG, BVDP(positive) or BVDI (inconclusive) status.

    MC2L Movement Licence.

    If the herd or animal is under restriction you must not use a MC2 to notify a movement.

    In this situation the Establishment Operator (keeper) must apply to DAERA for a MC2L       licence. This will be issued only if DAERA considers the movement risk to be acceptable.
