  • How do I apply for the FwNT Scheme?

    Application for the 2025 Farming with Nature Transition Scheme has now closed. If you have any queries about your application, you can contact our Advisory team on 0300 200 7848 from 9am – 5pm (Monday to Friday) or email FarmingwithNature@daera-ni.gov.uk

    Applications could be made online through DAERA Online services during the application window which opened on Monday 23 June 2025 and closed on Monday 4 August at 5pm.

    To apply you must have a Government Gateway (GG) or NI Identity Assurance (NIDA) logon.

    If you are already registered with DAERA Online Services

    • Log in using your GG or NIDA logon, details at DAERA Online Services.
    • From the list of services select Farming with Nature to start your application.
    • If you need help, at any stage of the process, you can contact the Farming with Nature Advisory Service by telephone on 0300 200 7848 or email FarmingwithNature@daera-ni.gov.uk

    If you are new to DAERA Online Services

    You must be registered to use DAERA Online Services. For advice or assistance contact:-

    • Telephone: 028 9442 6699

    Once registered, you will be given instructions on how to access the online services, including the FwNT application.

    Nomination of an Authorisation Person/Agent

    If you cannot complete the online FwNT application yourself, you can nominate an Authorised Person (Agent) to do so on your behalf. Further information on how to nominate another person to complete the application on your behalf is available on the link:

    How To Apply Videos

    The following videos will step you through how to log in, complete and submit your application for Farming with Nature Transition Scheme. 

    You do not have to complete your application in one sitting. The system will save your progress, and you can access your application as many times as necessary up to the point you submit your application.  Once submitted it will not be possible to make any further amendments.

    Work should not be started, and any associated items should not be purchased, until you have received confirmation you have been accepted into the scheme. Letters of acceptance, or rejection if prioritisation of applications is necessary, will issue in due course.
