Farming with Nature Transition Scheme
The Farming with Nature Transition Scheme aims to increase the extent of habitats on farmed land across Northern Ireland. The actions available will create new habitats, provide new green infrastructure, protect watercourses and contribute to carbon sequestration on farms.
The information on this page relates to Year 1 of the Farming with Nature Transition Scheme.
For information relating to Year 2 please visit Farming with Nature Transition Scheme - Year 2
Year 1 Key dates: Application period 23 June to 4 August 2025. Claim Submission period 2 to 31 March 2026. Payments are expected to commence 22 June 2026.
Important Points to Note:
Scheme participants are required to retain invoices, for example, for seed purchased. Invoices dated prior to the date of acceptance into the scheme would render the action ineligible for payment.
It is your responsibility to understand and comply with all requirements of your FwNT agreement as laid out in the FwNT Scheme Conditions (see relevant link below).
