Consultation
The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) launched an eight-week consultation on 1 June 2026 which sought stakeholder and public views on the proposed designation of Lagan Meadows as a Quiet Area.
The selection of Lagan Meadows met the requirements of the Departments Guidance for Quiet Areas, published on 21 September 2016, which sets out the identification, designation, and management of quiet areas.
A total of 45 formal responses were received through Citizen Space, and four responses were received via an email submission. The Department has designated Lagan Meadows as a Quiet Area and will keep this under review.
The Department wishes to thank all those who took the time to read and respond to the consultation document.
