How do I Apply for the FwNH Scheme?
Applications are made on-line through DAERA On-line services during the application window which opens on Tuesday 30 June 2026 at 9am and closes on Friday 31 July 2026 at 5pm. Late applications will not be accepted.
Only applicants whose Tranche 4 Environmental Farming Scheme (T4 EFS) Agreement expired on the 31 December 2025 are eligible to apply for the FwNH Scheme during this application window.
Only land that was part of the expired T4 EFS agreement will migrate over to the FwNH online application portal. This will show prepopulated on a map. There is one application for both the FwNH Scheme and the Farming with Nature Transition (FwNT) Scheme.
Important: If you wish to apply for both schemes you MUST NOT submit your application until you have selected the actions you wish to apply for under the FwNT Scheme and have made the relevant selection for FwNH Scheme. Once you click ‘Submit Application’ you will not be able to make any further changes.
When you select to apply for FwNH a prepopulated map and Field Information Table (FIT) will display your RMOs in the relevant fields. You will be required to select one of the following to proceed with your application:
Accept – If you accept the FwN Higher Application the value of the FwNH Scheme will be included in your application.
Accept With Amendments – This option is only available to applicants who can demonstrate loss of management control of land. Administrative checks will be carried out by DAERA and may delay acceptance of your application.
Declined – If you reject the FwN Higher Scheme, the value of the FwNH will be removed from your application and you will not be able to reapply at a later date.
